The Barbados Meteorological Services is monitoring the progress of a thick concentration of Saharan dust located in the Central Atlantic and this is expected to affect Barbados from Wednesday February 19 to Friday February 21, 2020.
Persons with a history of respiratory allergies, sinusitis, asthma and eye allergies may be affected. Do you have a medical history of nasal allergies (rhinitis), sinusitis, eye allergies (conjunctivitis), hay fever, wheezing or asthma? You may experience the effects such as runny nose, sneezing, dry and itchy or watery eyes, chest tightness, wheezing or flare up of asthma. This can be reduced by limiting exposure, being vigilant and starting or stepping up on treatment if these symptoms arise.
